Subject: Revision in the schedule of charges fot reimbursement of expenses on purchase/ replacement/ repair/ adjustment of Hearing .Aid under -CS (IMA) Rules, 1944 — Clarification regarding.

In Continuation of this Ministry's 0M of eyen number dated 28.10.2002, on the subject mentioned above the undersigned is directed to say that the issue whether the ceiling limit of Rupees sixty thousand towards reimbursement of expenditure incurred on a digital hearing aid is applicable for a single ear or for both ears has been examined in cosultation with Dte.GHS and it is accordingly clarified that the said limit of Rs. sixty thousand was applicable for a single hearing aid only. However, keeping in view the fact that the rates of the digital hearing aids have come down drastically an exercise was revising the ceiling limit for reimbursement by calling fresh rates from different manufacturers / dealers of hearing aids. In accordance with the recommendations of the experts in Dte.GHS the ceiling limit for reimbursement of expenditure incurred on purchase of a digital hearing aid is fixed at Rs. Thrity thousand only. The other terms and conditions of the 0M under reference shall remain unchanged.
This issues with the concurrence of IFD vide their Dyz No. Cl 995 dated 17.12.2003.
